The Indiana Search and Rescue Association (INSARA) is a state and federal tax-exempt not-for-profit corporation under 501(c)(3) of the federal tax code. Donations and grants to INSARA are usually tax deductible (check with your tax advisor to be sure).INSARA does not accept donations of dogs for canine search and rescue work. Contact your local SAR team, emergency management agency, fire-rescue service, or law enforcement agency if you have a dog to donate.INSARA does not sell its donor list or membership list, thus maintaining the privacy of its benefactors and members. INSARA has no paid employees and does not contract with professional fundraisers, therefore the Association utilizes 100% of donated funds received. INSARA maintains the following funds: General FundThe General Fund is used for the administrative operations of the Association. Such operating costs include necessary business items as telephone bills, postage, post offiMarch 7, 2007n Fund This fund is used to defray the costs of providing training and education programs to INSARA member organizations. Funds are also used to develop training and education programs for search and rescue responders.
